Information

Since the reorganization of first-aid courses on July 1, 2018, this course has been—also in Luxembourg—based on the European First Aid model. That means two-thirds of the course is now hands-on practice, and theoretical instruction has become the exception. There is no longer a formal exam session; the “first aid” course is validated through continuous assessment by the instructor. If a participant fails to meet the requirements, no certificate will be issued.

Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will receive a certificate issued by the responsible minister. To obtain this certificate, participants must have attended all 16 hours of the course. In addition, the instructor must confirm their attendance. No certificate will be issued unless both conditions are fulfilled.

This certificate is valid for five years. About one year before it expires, you should inquire about taking a refresher course. If you successfully complete another course within those five years, the validity of your certificate will automatically be extended by another five years.

Participation requirements

  • Minimum age: 12 years
  • Willingness to participate
  • In possession of an SNJ Structure ID number or a DG AEF ID number

Target audience : This course is aimed at all staff who, in the course of their professional or extracurricular activities, need to learn first-aid procedures in the event of illness or accident.
